Disabled Love

Synopsis

Ayşe and Cenk come from vastly different backgrounds but find love while studying at university. Ayşe, from a wealthy, modern and religious family, is deeply devoted to her faith. Cenk, however, lives a non-religious life and envies Ayşe's lifestyle. In an effort to win Ayşe's heart, Cenk makes a promise to change and lead a religious life. The couple gets married, but soon after, Cenk reverts to his old habits of alcohol, gambling, and drugs, breaking his promise to Ayşe. She tries to rescue her beloved husband from the pit of addiction, but her efforts are in vain. Eventually, Ayşe decides to leave Cenk and returns to her father's house, unwilling to be dragged down into the swamp of addiction. Unfortunately, Cenk's struggle with addiction and his inability to keep his promise to Ayşe drive him to a tragic end. In a final act of defeat, he takes his own life.
